South Pars Phase 12 Produces 14bcm of Gas in 6 Months

TEHRAN (Dispatches) - Director of the refinery Mohammad Mehdi Hashemi said the 9th refinery of the South Pars Oil and Gas Field has produced nearly 14 billion cubic meters of gas during the first half of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20-September 21).
Hashemi said the 9th refinery as the first refinery of the complex finished basin repair this year, adding that the whole process has been carried out by a domestic contractor and regional forces.
He noted that all units of phase 12 are now generating products.
The South Pars/North Dome field is a natural-gas condensate field located in the Persian Gulf. It is by far the world’s largest natural gas field.
In relevant remarks gas field’s project Manager Mohammad Mehdi Tavassolipour said that phase 14 of the South Pars Gas Field is slated to join the national grid by the end of the next Summer.
"Phase 14 is located in the Northern part of the gas field, and was prioritized after phases 13, 22, 23, and 24,” he added.
He pointed out that the Iranian economy has changed tracks from oil to gas over the past few years.
Since the SPGF is a joint field (with Qatar), it is very important that Iran to be able to use its share from the field, he said, adding that the project started in April 2018 and it is complete by 88.66 percent.
