Region’s Stability & Independence Indebted to Iran’s Victory Over US

By: Kayhan Int’l Staff Writer

As Iran celebrates the annual Holy Defence Week, this time its 40th anniversary with a memorable speech by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on the decisive defeat of the US and the victory of the Islamic Republic over almost the whole world that had backed Saddam’s unprovoked launching of the 8-year war in 1980, Washington whose hegemony continues to diminish in the region, resorted to the illegal step of imposing what it calls ‘snap-back’ UN sanctions when the World Body has said in clear terms that the US lacks legitimacy to take such a step.
This is yet another proof that the current administration in the White House is made up of brainless terrorists living in a fool’s paradise when the entire world, including the traditional European allies have said that today the US is more isolated than ever.
Insha Allah (God Willing), the US regime will soon go down the drain in view of its intransigence of the past four decades to see realities and despite its string of defeats vis-à-vis the Islamic Revolution and the Resistance Front throughout West Asia, to still think that its toothless sanctions will force Iran to yield to pressures.
We indeed pity the American people for being ruled by such hair-brained criminals like Donald Trump who never care for public welfare. If the current events in the US where the struggle is raging against the tyranny of the white racist rulers are any indication, we might be seeing a real revolution to permanently change the unjust American system of government.
Of course, there are saner minds in the US, familiar with the strength of the Islamic Republic – whether material or spiritual. They already know what indignity their successive administrations have suffered in Iraq, in Afghanistan, in Syria, in Lebanon, in Yemen, in Egypt, and in the Persian Gulf region because of their failure to analyze facts.
As Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Monday in his memorable speech on the 40th anniversary of the 8-year war which the US had imposed through Saddam of the repressive Ba’th minority of Iraq and lost: "Iran’s victory in the imposed war is as clear as the sun. Almost the whole world did whatever it could, but failed to achieve its goal in the end. Is there any victory better than this?”
Those in doubt ought to open their eyes to the stability, dignity, sovereignty, and independence from undue foreign hegemony that the Islamic Republic of Iran has brought to the region.
For instance, Saddam, backed by billions of dollars from the reactionary regimes of the Persian Gulf, in addition to the flow of sophisticated arms from the US, Europe, the USSR and other countries, including international banned chemical weapons, had sought to prevent the natural spread of the Islamic Revolution to Iraq and other Arab countries.
Today, four decades later, the Islamic Revolution’s influence in West Asia has inspired the Iraqis to assert their independence and form a real representative system of government in over a thousand years in the face of the pressures from the US and the reactionary Arab regimes.
If not for the influence of the Islamic Revolution, not just the Palestinian people’s untiring efforts to keep alive hopes of liberation of their homeland from the Zionist usurpers would have long died, but Lebanon would have been swallowed up by illegal Israel.
Today, the Islamic Resistance is so strong and enduring that the legendry anti-terrorist movement, the Hezbollah, has the honour of being the only Arab force (not national army) of defeating Israeli aggression.
In Syria, the people and armed forces, although Sunni Muslim but inspired by their Shi’a Muslim Iranian brothers, have succeeded in saving their country from being turned into Takfiristan by tens of thousands of terrorist mercenaries sent by the US, Western Europe, Arab regimes, and Israel, to destabilize it by killing over half-a-million people so far.
In Yemen, the popular Ansarallah Movement also draws inspiration from the Islamic Revolution and by offering martyrs and retaliation with telling force against the aggressors, has managed to save the independence, integrity, and sovereignty of Northern Yemen from the savage war launched by Saudi Arabia and the UAE with the active support of the US, Britain, and the Zionist regime.
In Bahrain, the people’s struggle goes on against heavy odds and hopes have risen of the eventual overthrow of the repressive Aal-e Khalifa minority regime in the near future, in spite of its open diplomatic dalliance with Israel.
Even in the spurious British-created fiefdom called Saudi Arabia, the Islamic Revolution is an inspiration for not just the long suppressed majority of the eastern oil rich region, but for the people of Hijaz, Najran, and other parts that resent the imposed rule of the Najdis.
The message from Tehran is thus crystal clear for the Americans as they beat retreat from Afghanistan: The US cannot do a damn thing.
