Islamic Iran, the Only Sincere Supporter of the Palestinian Cause

By: Kayhan Intl. Staff Writer

Without the least doubt, it is the Islamic Republic of Iran which is the prime supporter of the cause of the oppressed Palestinian people and sincerely strives for the end of the illegal Zionist entity at a time when the unrepresentative and reactionary regimes of the region have ganged up with Israel against Islam.
This was emphasized yet again on July 4 when the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, replied to the recent letter of Ismail Haniyeh the Head of the Political Bureau of the Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas.
The Leader made it clear: "The Islamic Republic, as before, does not spare any effort to support the oppressed Palestinian people, redress their rights, and also fight off the bogus and usurping Zionist regime’s evil.”
It is worth noting that the 25-year period set by Ayatollah Khamenei several years ago for the inglorious end of Israel is fast moving towards its cherished goal.
On June 25, Haniyeh had called on political leaders in the Arab and Muslim world to join hands in defence of the Palestinian cause and devise mechanisms to stop the illegal Zionist entity’s plan to annex large parts of the West Bank.
For past 7 decades Palestinians living in exile after being driven out from their ancestral homes and hearths have been demanding their right to return to their original hometowns now in the possession of the illegal Zionist migrants of Eastern Europe, who have no connection to this land since they are not the offspring of the original Israelite tribes.
The Israelis are not even Semites, and as a matter of fact they are Khazar converts to Judaism. In contrast, many of the Palestinian Muslims although their mother tongue is Arabic and they are called Arabs, are the direct descendants of the ancient Israelite tribes.
Not to forget, in 1948 when the British illegally planted Israel in the heart of the Islamic World, over 700,000 Palestinians were driven from their homes and hearths by the Zionists.
They ended up as refugees in neighbouring lands, but with the resolve to return home one day. As a result the UN General Assembly passed Resolution 194 on December 11, 1948, recognizing the right of return.
It is rather unfortunate that the West unabashedly ignores the rights of the oppressed Palestinian people, whether Muslims or Christians, to return to their homeland, while the illegal Zionist entity, backed by its godfathers in London and Washington, and now supported by the treasonous Arab regimes, especially Saudi Arabia, continues its crimes against humanity.
On the other hand, Iran has never withheld its support for the Palestinians and has always stayed true to the cause in line with its religious and humanitarian duty and also in keeping with the value-based principles of Islamic Revolution.
The Leader in his letter to Haniyeh on Saturday further said the resistance of Palestinians has caused frustration for the US and Israel.
Iran has always strongly condemned the Judaization of the occupied Islamic city of Bayt al-Moqaddas, and will never cease its campaign to prevent Israel from annexing the West Bank of Jordan River.
Even if Haniyeh had not urged the Muslim world for help and assistance, it was the duty of each and every Muslim to defend and liberate Islam’s former Qibla (focal point of the ritual prayer), the sacred al-Aqsa Mosque, in the Zionist occupied Islamic city of Bayt al-Moqaddas, which the West calls Jerusalem.
So far, there has been a low response by the 120 addressees to Haniyeh’s letter, and it remains to be seen how they will announce their stance to the recent sinister designs on the West Bank. The reactionary Arab regimes, which are after normalizing their relations with the Zionists, have totally ignored the call.
