TEHRAN (Press TV) -- A total of 230 people, including members of security and Basij forces, were killed in the 2019 riots, which followed an Iranian government’s decision to increase fuel prices, says a senior lawmaker.
Mojtaba Zon-noor, a current parliamentarian and former head of the Iranian legislature’s committee on national security and foreign policy, was quoted by Tasnim news agency as telling reporters on Monday. "Regretfully, we had 230 fatalities in those incidents, including six security officers who were martyred.”
