Iran Warns France Will Not Tolerate Meddling
TEHRAN (Dispatches) -- Iran’s Foreign Ministry on Wednesday rejected France’s "meddlesome” remarks regarding the case of an Iranian national, saying Tehran will brook no interference in its judicial affairs.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran will not tolerate at all any discrediting of its governing rules, including independence of its judiciary,” Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said after France’s Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian announced that his country would take a tougher stance with Iran for sentencing Fariba Adelkhah, who was arrested in Iran in June 2019 on espionage charges, to prison.
