Defends Poster on Leader’s Website

Iran Blasts Europe’s Captivity to Zionist Lobby

TEHRAN (Dispatches) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry on Friday lashed out at Europe for its "stunning captivity” to Zionist lobby groups and its failure to stop Tel Aviv from violating international law.
"Stunning is Europe’s captivity to Zionist lobby,” ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi tweeted.
Europe, he said, has historically failed to stop the Zionist regime’s violation of international law, including through its suppression of Palestinians and annexation of their lands.
"Why afraid of ‘referendum’ in Palestine as a lasting solution?” he asked.
Mousavi’s comments came in reaction to a recent spate of propaganda by Western media about a poster that appeared on the website of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei proposing "referendum” as the best way to end Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories and the final solution to the issue of Palestine.
The European Union’s foreign policy chief on Thursday scrambled to assert support for the Zionist regime.
"This is a threat to international peace and security. The security of Israel is of paramount importance and the EU will stand at its side,” Josep Borrell wrote on Twitter.
Since the publication of the poster, some Zionist-sponsored international media have been trying to draw an analogy to "the final solution” of the Nazi Germany during World War II.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Muhammad Javad Zarif on Thursday defended the poster, saying it advocated for a referendum in the Palestinian territories.
"Disgusting that those whose civilization found a ‘Final Solution” in gas chambers attack those who seek a real solution at the ballot box, through a REFERENDUM,” Zarif wrote on Twitter.
"Why are U.S. and West so afraid of democracy?” he added. "Palestinians should not have to pay for your crimes, or for your guilt.”
The Leader’s official website also wrote, "Eliminating the Zionist regime doesn’t mean eliminating Jews. We aren’t against Jews. It means abolishing the imposed regime & Muslim, Christian & Jewish Palestinians choose their own govt & expel thugs like (Zionist PM Benjamin) Netanyahu.”
The website said Iran would back anyone opposed to the occupying regime of Israel.
"We will support and assist any nation or any group anywhere who opposes and fights the Zionist regime, and we do not hesitate to say this.”
The poster, shared on the Leader’s website, showed people celebrating at the Noble Sanctuary compound in Jerusalem Al-Quds after apparently capturing it from Israel as a Palestinian flag is raised over the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
On Thursday, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) released a message ahead of Quds Day on Friday, expressing hope the Zionist regime’s destruction is near and Ayatollah Khamenei will soon pray at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

"The IRGC said that hopefully, as the two leaders of the Islamic Revolution have promised, the end of the Zionist regime is close and soon the news of Ayatollah Khamenei congregation prayers in the Holy Quds and the region emerging without the Zionist regime and the U.S. will be covered by all the media of the world,” the Fars news agency quoted the message as saying.
The military force also vowed to continue to fight the occupying regime of Israel and said the Palestinians remain its top priority.
Quds Day, which Iran has marked since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, is usually commemorated with massive demonstrations across Iran and elsewhere, expressing support for the Palestinians. It is held on the last Friday of Ramadan.
Zarif said on Friday the Zionist regimes is the greatest threat to international peace and security.
"Qud Day is the day to revive Palestinian rights and for the occupation and settlers to disappear,” Zarif said on Twitter. "Israel is the largest human rights violator and the only holder of nuclear weapons in the region.
Israel, he said, is "the most serious chronic threat to international peace and security,” adding that U.S. President Donald Trump’s "racist” Deal of the Century "proved Washington to be a hopeless partner of the aggressor”.

Jews Must Rise Against Zionism: Jewish MP

The representative of the Jewish community at the Iranian parliament called on Jews throughout the world to rise against and denounce Zionism, just as Muslim people rise against figures such as Osama bin Laden, who take advantage of religion.
"The Zionist regime seeks to take advantage of the Jewish religion, and is not committed to any of its principles,” Siamak Moreh Sedq noted.
"Therefore, it is both a humanitarian and a religious duty for all Jewish people across the world to stand up to this regime,” the lawmaker added.
