We meet again after a gap of 18 days, thanks to the New Year holidays, which are indeed a well-deserved annual rest for journalists working tirelessly in the print media to get refreshed and reinvigorated as dexterous wielders of the pen or deft users of their fingers on the keyboards in defence of the interests and progress of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the battles imposed by Global Arrogance, and currently against its Frankenstein Monster "Coronavirus”.
The calendar year 1399 solar hijri has been rightly designated by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution as "Year of Leap in Production”, following the significant boost in production that Iran witnessed last year in all sectors, despite the illegal US sanctions, including defence industries and medical technology in order to neutralize the two evils facing the nation and the world in the form of the Great Satan and Covid-19.
His Eminence in his televised addresses to the nation called the US "the most evil enemy of Iran and all Muslims”, and paid glowing tribute to the latest victims of Washington’s America’s state terrorism – Martyrs Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Muhandis of Iraq.
He also hailed the selfless and self-sacrificing services of Iran’s medical staff and related personnel in the campaign against Coronavirus as defenders of the health/hygienic front, and called those who have lost their life while discharging duties "martyrs of the health defence.”
True, Iran has suffered losses, both due to the cowardly and criminal policies of the US and the Coronavirus pandemic which has so far claimed over 3,000 lives, but there is no reason for despair.
The country’s devoted people, in all sectors, including medical, have succeeded in their efforts to cushion the disasters, and it is not exaggeration to say are in the position of defeating Covid-19 as well as the virus called Donald Trump.
The Islamic Republic’s power and prestige is fully manifest today in medical sciences, as Iran, without the least support from any of the supposedly advanced western countries has ably controlled the disease from becoming a disaster on a national scale – a factor that becomes evident when we see the inability of the US and European countries, such as Spain and Italy, in being helpless in the fight against the pandemic.
Meanwhile, in the region the influence of Iran continues to grow with tens of millions of people in the neighbourhood, benefitting from the Islamic Republic’s experience and expertise in the struggle to end American hegemony.
In our last Viewpoint Column on March 17 we had said the Iraqi people are determined to kick out the CENTCOM terrorists from their country, a goal that is fast approaching as Trump and his team of terrorists try to blame Iran with threats that if carried out, will Insha Allah, deliver the most shattering blow in history to the United States of America.
