Iran’s Men Take IWBF Asia Oceania Championships Bronze Medal
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s men’s wheelchair basketball team claimed a bronze medal at the IWBF Asia Oceania Championships on Saturday.
Iran defeated japan 66-55 in the bronze-medal match at the Eastern National Sports Center. It was a sweet revenge for Team Melli since it has lost to Japan 71-51 on December 1.
Australia defeated South Korea 62-45 in the gold medal match.
Iran’s men’s team had already secured its place at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo.
Iran’s women’s team also defeated Afghanistan 48-35 on Friday in the fifth-place play-off.
The competitions brought 14 men’s teams and eight women’s teams together in Pattaya, Thailand from November 29 to December 7.
