Abu Dhabi’s Suicidal Meddling in Iraq

By: Kayhan Int’l Staff Writer
A saying goes: When an ant grows wings, it is a sure sign of its imminent death.
That is the law of the world of nature whenever some creatures undergo an unnatural development, but among human beings also such contradiction of the natural disposition could happen (though without the physical growth of wings), especially in the world of politics or more properly geopolitics, where states are created by outside forces, ruled by clannish or cultish regimes, pursue policies to please their creators, indulge in vanity, punch above their weight to spread havoc in the region and eventually vanish into oblivion.
An example of our times in this regard is the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which is celebrating with much fanfare and public holiday the 48th anniversary of its creation by its colonial master, Britain.
On December 2, 1971, following their physical departure from the Persian Gulf, the British lumped together seven sheikhdoms of what were known as the ‘Trucial Oman States’ on the pirate coast of Arabia, into a confederation dominated by the largest one Abu Dhabi – ruled by the Aal-e Nahyan clan claiming Yemeni origin.
The other six were Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras al-Khaimah, Umm al-Quwain, and Fujairah – most of them ruled by migratory clans from the Iranian coast, with Dubai being the commercial hub.
Iran as the paramount power of the region, enjoyed excellent commercial ties with the new state and helped in many of its developmental projects, especially football, agriculture, and greenery of the desert, despite the fact that from time to time, egged by the Americans, some petty Sheikhs tried to lay claim to three of the nearby Iranian islands – Bu Musa, Tonb-e Bozorg and Tonb-e Kuchak.
Of late, however, the clannish regime of oil-rich Abu Dhabi, whose ruler Sheikh Khalifa is a mere figurehead shunning public appearances, while real power is exercised by his stepbrother and heir apparent, Mohamed bin Zayed (MBZ) – a bosom friend of the notorious MBS (Mohamed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia) – has not only suppressed the other six states of the UAE confederation, particularly Dubai which is viewed as a rival, but embarked on extra-territorial terrorism.
This is evident in the turmoil in Yemen, where Abu Dhabi in complicity with the Wahhabi cultish regime of Riyadh, is responsible for the death of over a hundred thousand men, women, and children; the displacement of millions; the destruction of the infrastructure; and the spread of famine and epidemics.
The UAE, or more properly the wealthy sheikhdom of Abu Dhabi, besides using its minister of state of foreign affairs, Anwar Gargash (of southern Iranian origin who tries to act as an Arab like his Saudi Arabian counterpart Adel al-Jubeir of Jewish stock), to bare its fangs at the Islamic Republic, was involved in the massacre of the Syrian people through various terrorist outfits.
It has now been exposed that MBZ and his ilk, in coordination with the US, the Zionist regime, and the murderous MBS, are planning genocide of Arab Shi’a Muslims in Iraq on a grand scale through influx of seditionists disguised as nationalists and draped in Iraqi flags.
These were the elements that recently torched the Iranian consulate in holy Najaf in a sacrilegious manner, and are planning to bring down the democratically elected government in Baghdad, and its replacement by some irreligious general on the model of the bloodthirsty Saddam of the Ba’th minority regime.
This was disclosed by Izzat Shabandar, an Iraqi political figure and former lawmaker, who was arrested in the UAE late last month after uncovering an Israeli-Emirati plot targeting his country.
The sources claim that the Iraqi political figure’s arrest came after he leaked information regarding the UAE’s role in financing "destructive activities” within ongoing protests in Iraq and arming four Iraqi tribes in the country’s western al-Anbar province.
The armed tribes are to lay the groundwork for the province’s autonomy and ultimately its participation in the so-called "Deal of the Century”, a US-backed initiative seeking to undermine Palestinian territorial rights, making the way for the settlement of Palestinian refugees in the al-Anbar province.
Qais al-Khazali, the leader the Iraqi Asaib Ahl al-Haq group which is part of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), has also described the incident to be similar to MBS’ detention of Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri in 2017.
The recent reports regarding the joint UAE-Israeli initiative in Iraq come as the country has been witness to sporadic protests over the past two months. The meddlers are seeking to deviate the protests in a bid to destabilize Iraq and strain the fraternal and friendly ties of the Iraqi people with the Iranian people.
Fortunately, the Iraqi religious and political authorities are fully aware of this conspiracy and are taking all necessary measure to cut off the hands of meddlers.
