Group: Internet Rapidly Restored in Iran
DUBAI (Dispatches) -- The NetBlocks advocacy group says internet connectivity is rapidly being restored in Iran after a weeklong government-imposed shutdown in response to violent riots.
Iran on Thursday began restoring internet access in the capital Tehran and a number of provinces after a five-day-long nationwide shutdown. Officials said the shutdown came because a group of "saboteurs” were using online services like navigation and maps to coordinate their seditious activities in large cities.
