Iran’s Outstanding Advancements Unnerve the US

By: Kayhan Int’l Staff Writer

What are reasons behind the undying animosity of the US towards the Islamic Republic of Iran, and why have the various administrations marching in and out of the White House in Washington over the past forty years failed to stop Tehran’s steady progress despite the intensity of their sanctions, or more properly economic terrorism?
The answers to this and related questions are obvious.
First and foremost the revolution that triumphed in Iran in 1979 not just ended half-a-century of American domination of the country but transformed it into the Islamic Republic which restored to the Iranian people their national identity, their religious integrity, their cultural capability, and sovereignty over their own affairs – factors which in the past, had created the glorious Islamic civilization, largely through the efforts of Iranian masters of science, technology, philosophy and so on, whose names and fields of achievements are too famous in the International House of Fame, to be mentioned in this brief Viewpoint Column.
Those still in doubt, ought to study the developments that have taken place in Iran over the past four decades despite the gravity of the American and European sanctions, thanks to the ability of Iranian experts in mastering various branches of modern science, such as the nuclear fuel cycle, stem cell technology, aerospace, and the defence industries, whose power and prowess have time and again proven to be superior when faced by the technology that the US possess.
Secondly, this spectacular material progress in Iran, unlike the atheist West and the socialist East – both of which have misused science and technology for destructive purposes – are based on spiritual values for the benefit of mankind in accordance with the dynamic teachings of Islam, which forbids manufacture of weapons of mass destruction.
The third point that has horrified Washington is the growing influence of Iran, or more properly its Islamic system, throughout the region and beyond, against terrorists of all hue and colour, including the Zionists and the Takfiris, to the detriment of American hegemony which once held nations in thrall by dictating policies to them and stealing their natural resources, especially oil, at dirt-cheap prices.
Last but not the least reason for Iran’s invincibility in the face of the most intricate plots of the US, including the 8-year year war that was imposed in the 1980s through Saddam of the repressive Ba’th minority regime of Baghdad, and the sporadic bouts of vandalism which the enemy unsuccessfully unleashes – as happened over the past few days in some Iranian towns and cities – is the Islamic- nationalist solidarity of the Iranian masses whose dedication to the system of government has thwarted all sorts of conspiracies.
No wonder, our enlightened Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, whose Islamic insight, political prudence, and economic acumen, are the guiding factors for the nation and the three branches of government, points to the sheer inability of the US and its agents in denting the indomitable nature of the Iranian people, and predicts that the next forty years of the Islamic Revolution – the Second Phase – will bring even more spectacular successes for Iran in view of what it has achieved in various fields, including science and technology, over the past four decades, and this time economic bonanza, which no enemy can prevent.
