Iran to Face in World Soccer Beach Games for Bronze Medal
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran beach soccer team will face Italy in the third-place playoff of the Association of National Olympic (ANOC) Committees World Beach Games.
Team Melli lost to Russia 6-2 in Doha’s Katara beach in the semi-final.
Italy also lost to Brazil 7-5 in the other semis.
Iran will meet Italy on Wednesday in the bronze medal match while Brazil face Russia in the final.
A total of 16 teams, divided into four groups of four teams, are competing in the World Beach Games.
More than 1230 athletes from 97 countries compete at the inaugural ANOC World Beach Games in Doha on October 12-17.
