Iran Beat Ukraine in ANOC World Beach Games
DOHA, Qatar (Tasnim) – Iran beach soccer team started the Association of National Olympic (ANOC) Committees World Beach Games on a high note.
On Friday, Team Melli defeated Ukraine 5-4 in Doha’s Katara Beach in Group C.
Mohammad Mokhtari (two goals), Amir Hossein Akbari, Mohammad Ahmadzadeh and Mehdi Shirmohammadi were on target for Abbas Hashempour’s side.
Iran will play Senegal, who tops the table after earning a 3-0 win over Paraguay, on Sunday.
A total of 16 teams, divided into four groups of four teams, are competiting in the World Beach Games.
More than 1230 athletes from 97 countries compete at the inaugural ANOC World Beach Games in Doha on October 12-17.
