Leader Names New Chiefs for Charity Organizations

TEHRAN (Press TV) -- Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Monday appointed new chiefs for the Mostazafan Foundation (MFJ) and the Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation (IKRF), Iran’s main charity organizations.
In a decree, Ayatollah Khemenei said Parviz Fattah would replace Muhammad Saeedikia as the head of the Mostazafan Foundation for a five-year term.
Before being appointed to the new post, Fattah was in charge of the IKRF, Iran’s largest charity organization.
A minister of energy under former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Fattah has also served as a local commander in the Islamic Revolutions Guards Corps.
The leader also thanked Saeedikia for his services and appointed him as the new chairman of the board of trustees of the MFJ.
Based on a decree by Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Revolution, IKRF was established in March 1979 as a charity organization to provide assistance and support to the poor in Iran. The body mainly relies on donations by people although it also receives some funding from the Iranian administration as well.
