TEHRAN (Fars) –Head of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Gholam Hossein Shafeyee in a meeting with Uzbek Ambassador to Iran Bahador Abullayev vowed to launch direct flights between the two countries.
Talks are underway to launch direct flights between Iran and Uzbekistan, ICCIMA's President called the Uzbek ambassador to Iran to facilitate launching of direct flights between Tehran and Tashkent as the Iranian side is ready to do so.
ICCIMA is ready to buy the empty seats to help facilitate launching direct flights between the two countries, Shafeyee said.
He noted that the flight is to connect Tehran to Tashkent and Kyrgyz capital Bishkek to help reduce the costs, he said, adding that Iran asked the Uzbek embassy to take necessary measures to materialize the goal.
Abdullayev, for his part, said that several Uzbek airlines have also agreed to establish direct flights to Iran to facilitate trade exchanges between the two countries.
