Exports From Persian Gulf Special Economic Zone Rise

TEHRAN (FNA) - Managing-Director of the Persian Gulf Special Economic Zone Hassan Khalaj Tehrani has said Iran boosted exports of goods from its Persian Gulf Economic Zone.
Tehrani said that over 5.8mn tons of goods worth $1.6bn were exported from the region.
"The region has always been trying to accelerate the process by attracting investors based on economic, trade, customs interests and development to achieve its development", he said.
Tehrani referred to the Persian Gulf Zone with advantages, including the increase and development of modern technology in the production and promotion of quality and export power to compete in global markets.
He noted that the Persian Gulf Zone is a strategic area for the country's economy, which has reliable infrastructure.
Earlier this year, Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Reza Rahmani said that government considered non-oil exports as a driving force behind the economic development of the country, reassuring that exporting more is high on the agenda of the country in the current year.
