Week of Glorious Anniversaries
Salaam dear young friends. May God Almighty accept your fasting, prayers supplications, and all other acts of worship!
The blessed month of Ramadhan is in its midst now and entering its climax when the already open gates of Divine Mercy become more widely open for the guests of God.
First and foremost, yesterday the 15th of Ramadhan was the day when Imam Ali (AS) and Hazrat Fatema Zahra (SA) became the proud parents of their firstborn, Imam Hasan al-Mojtaba (SAWA), thereby making Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) grandfather for the first time.
We ought to study the different aspects of the dynamic personality of Imam Hasan (AS), the Prophet’s 2nd Infallible Heir, in order to be good Muslims. Because of his generosity and munificence that on at least three occasions saw him distribute his possessions amongst the needy, Iran holds Munificence Week to organize help for the weaker classes of the society.
The next auspicious occasion is the eve of the 17th of Ramadhan when "Me'raj” or the Ascension to the heavens of Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) took place from Mecca, as indicated by the opening ayah of Surah al-Isra'.
It is indeed God's greatest favour to His Last and Greatest Messenger to physically lift him, in a fraction of a night, to the highest echelons of the ethereal heavens where no creature, including Archangel Gabriel, can venture, and then return him to Plant Earth. The Unseen but Omnipresent Creator, whom no eye could perceive, showed the Prophet the mysteries of the heavens and the earth, and the fate of mankind in afterlife. God, Who is far Glorious to have shape, form, place, time or voice, spoke to him in the voice of his dear cousin, Imam Ali (AS), since this was the most soothing voice for the Prophet.
Friday will be the National Day of Resistance, as the 3rd of Khordad or May 24 is marked every year in the Islamic Republic of Iran with rejoicing and thanksgiving, since it is the anniversary of the memorable liberation of the once-thriving port city of Khorramshahr from Ba’thist occupation.
It is indeed a Red Letter Day for Iran, which proved to the world that what makes a nation triumphant is faith in God, devotion to Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) and the Infallible Imams of his Blessed Household, determination to continue the fight in the face of heavy odds, confidence in its capabilities, and trust in the Leadership of the Righteous.
That is why the Father of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (RA) expressed those famous words this day in 1982 "God liberated Khorramshahr” when he was informed of the humiliating retreat of the Ba’thist war machine across the Arvandroud despite receiving weaponry worth a hundred billion dollars from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, and the UAE, in addition to military support from both the Capitalist West and the Communist East.
The 37th anniversary of the liberation of Khorramshahr when Islamic Iran is being called a destabilizing force and supporter of terrorism by the US, Saudi Arabia, and the illegal Zionist entity – the same unholy trio that has been terrorizing the region for the past several decades – there are important lessons to be learnt for the heroic people of Iran, who should never fear war, if they want to preserve their independence and the dignity of their household, by defeating the plots of their dastardly enemies.
