Iran Kata Team Bags Bronze in Istanbul League

TEHRAN (Dispatches) - Iranian karate kata team has defeated Serbia and received a bronze medal in Karate1 Premier League in Istanbul, Turkey.
The event was held with the attendance of 1,813 athletes from 102 countries.

Iranian squad participated in the event in two sections of kata and kumite.

Participants will also be granted points to receive 2020 Olympic quota.

 And Iranian Taekwondo fighter Soroush Ahmadi in the weight category of – 63kg advanced to 2019 World Taekwondo Championships final match held in Manchester, UK.
The event was held with the attendance of 975 taekwondokas from 150 countries.

Ahmadi defeated Lebanese and Saudi rivals.

After hitting Indonesian fighter, he advanced to quarter finals.

In quarter final, Ahmadi overpowered Azeri taekwondoka and entered semi-final stage.

Ahmadi then hit Belgian rival in semi-final match and is supposed to stand against China on Sunday night.

Iranian squad has so far received a silver and a bronze medal.

The first ranking of the match will receive 120 points, second stage will earn 72 points and the third rankings will get 43.20 points to book ticket for 2020 Olympic Games.
