Iranian Titles Compete at Ukrainian Festival
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- A lineup of seven Iranian short films has been scheduled to screen at the 2019 Kaniv International Film Festival in Ukraine.
Among the selected Iranian titles to attend the film event Barzan Rostami’s ‘Balance’ has so far attended several international film festivals including the 14th Annual Durango Independent Film Festival in the U.S.
'Balance' is an animated story about soldiers who sacrifice lives so that people may live in peace.
Directed by Amir Gholami, ‘The Sea Swells’ has also been picked to compete at the Ukrainian film event. The short enjoys a surreal story about an old man who lives in a floating hut and makes coffins for the war veterans. So far, the film has attended and won awards from international events including Int’l Amity Short Filmfest in Turkey.
‘The Incomplete’ directed by Erfan Parsapour, ‘I’ by Mehdi Kamrani-Rad, Ammar Bastanfard’s ‘In Pursuit’ and ‘Death of Sleep’, and finally ‘My Heart’ by Yaser Talebi are the 5 other works to attend the Kaniv Filmfest.
The 4th edition of the Kaniv International Film Festival is slated for May 17-19, 2019.
