TEHRAN (Dispatches) –– Renowned Iranian actress Mehraveh Sharifinia has been awarded as best actress for "On Food” at Diamond Film Awards in Italy.
Mehraveh Sharifinia has won the award for her role in "on Foot”, directed by Shokoofa Karimi.
The short film narrates the story of a young Afghan woman who has illegally entered Iran with her husband.
"On Foot” has also vied at more than nine world-renowned festivals and has been screened in countries such as the U.S., Italy, Serbia, and India.
Also among the cast of "On Foot” are Sepand Amir-Soleymani, Mahlagha Baqeri, and Shabnam Farshadjou.
Mehraveh started off as a child star with a role in Mohammad-Reza Honarmand’s "Doll Thief” when she was eight.
Since then, she has appeared in movies such as "Masoumeh”, "A Girl Named Tondar” , "Look at Me”, "Nightmare”, "The Outcasts 2”, "If it Rains”, "A Simple Romance”, "A Line of Truth”, "The Stories', and "Story of My Father's Love”.
The latest edition of the Diamond Film Awards aimed at promoting films and helping filmmakers improve their careers.
