Leader Urges ‘Maximum Mobilization’ Against Threats

TEHRAN (Dispatches) -- Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Thursday called for "maximum mobilization” against threats, saying the U.S. and the occupying regime of Israel are doing all they can to advance their hostile campaign against the Iranian nation.
"The enemy, namely the U.S. and the Zionists, has today mobilized all its resources and capabilities against the Iranian nation, while the Westerners and the Europeans somehow exercise enmity against Iran from the sidelines,” he said in a meeting with members of Iran’s Assembly of Experts here.
The Leader touched on U.S. sanctions, saying the Americans "have launched a maximum offensive against Iran, but if we mobilize all our resources and capabilities, we will deal the heaviest blow in U.S. history to that country with God’s blessing.”
Ayatollah Khamenei enumerated different approaches that the country can adopt in dealing with enemy threats, saying the Iranians have extensive experience with methods being used by the enemy in its confrontation with the Islamic Republic.
Ayatollah Khamenei cited Washington’s withdrawal in May from the 2015 nuclear deal, saying Iran can use the experience gained when the U.S. reneged on its commitments under the agreement.
"Our real enemy is the U.S. and we will make no mistake in recognizing our enemy,” the Leader stated.
Iran, he said, should behave in such a way that the adversaries would not even think about imposing sanctions or taking military action against the country.
Ayatollah Khamenei outlined 11 ways of dealing with the challenges Iran is facing, stressing that addressing the problems should be active, not passive.
The Leader also called on the authorities to opt for "creative” rather than "reflective” method of confrontation with the enemies, and to be "hopeful” and courageous in resolving the problems instead of being "desperate” and fearful.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the Islamic Republic will hit the enemy where it never thinks of if a creative approach is taken against it.
The Leader further urged a prudent versus a naive and ignorant approach, stressing that the policy of defining the opportunities and threats should be inclusive, not one-sided.
Having knowledge of the realities on the ground instead of ignoring the facts is crucial to coped with the challenges, he added.
Confronting threats, Ayatollah Khamenei said, requires resourcefulness and control of feelings, not emotional reactions. Past experiences should be taken into account in confronting the challenges, he added.
"We have considerable experience of the way the Americans and Europeans behaved, but the most recent experience with the JCPOA and the commitment that Americans should have undertaken but reneged on is in front of us, and such experiences must be used in confronting the U.S. and the opposing front.”
