Iran’s Pourrahnama, One to Watch at World Para-Taekwondo C’ships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) announced the Taekwondo Ones to Watch ahead of the 2019 World Championships in Turkey.
Mahdi Pourrahnama from Iran is among the athletes who have the potential to make headlines.
Since picking up his first Worlds medal in 2009 at the age of 13, Pourrahnama has strung together one of the best resumes. Watch for him in the men’s up to 75 kg K44.
The competition will be a key event for taekwondo on the road to Tokyo 2020, where the sport will make its first appearance along with badminton.
The World Championships will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday (February 5 and 6) in Antalya, Turkey.
