Chief of Staff General Baqeri:

Enemies Aware of Heavy Costs of War With Iran

TEHRAN (Dispatches) -- Mindful of Iran’s retaliation and afraid of heavy casualties, the enemies of the Islamic Republic do not dare take action against the Islamic Republic, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces has said.
Major General Muhammad Hussein Baqeri said Sunday evening that Iran has been facing military threats over the past few years, but the country’s "potent deterrence” and the "enemy’s fear of the heavy casualties, damages and costs” in a possible war with Iran have prevented it from initiating a confrontation.
Baqeri assured that Iran would not waste a moment to boost its defense capabilities to counter threats.
The senior commander warned of the enemy’s new plots, such as "cognitive and psychological warfare” to carry out its hostile objectives, saying such methods were employed by the U.S. in its occupation of Iraq.
Baqeri touched on the defeat of terrorism in Syria and Iraq, saying the countries that had sponsored terrorist groups there have now queued up to reopen their embassies in Syria and Iraq.
The U.S., the general said, has gained nothing from over $7 trillion that it spent in Syria and Iraq.
"If the Americans spent $7,000 billion in Syria and Iraq and achieved nothing, what we spent in those countries was very low, but we had all these important and strategic results and achievements due to perseverance, jihad, hard work, good thinking, management and guidance,” he said.
Baqeri said the Islamic Republic and the resistance front have succeeded in making major breakthroughs in the fight against the takfiri terrorism in the Middle East.
