Lebanon President Says Wants Syrian Refugees to Return Home

BEIRUT (Xinhua) – President Michel Aoun said Wednesday that Lebanon does not have enough resources to sustain the increase in the big number of Syrian refugees living in the country, the presidency's website reported.
"The small size of our country and its infrastructure in addition to its limited resources do not allow us to sustain any increase in population number," Aoun told foreign diplomats during a meeting at Baabda Palace.
Aoun said refugees must return home to take part in Syria's reconstruction where they will be "living with dignity."
He also criticized the international community for its attitude towards refugees' return to their homeland.
"The international community wants to link refugees' return to their homeland to a political solution which will take a lot of time," he said.
