Police Seize 1.7 Tons of Narcotics in Southern Iran
ZAHEDAN (Dispatches) - The police commander of Sistan and Baluchestan Province Brigadier Mohammad Ghanbari on Tuesday said that 1.743 tons of illegal drugs have been discovered in Sarbaz town, southeastern Iran.
"The anti-narcotic police forces in the form of some teams monitored the area and conducted an ambush operation on the way of smugglers,” Brigadier Ghanbari said.
Referring to the fact that three smugglers were busted, he said 1.720 tons opium, 21.600 kg heroine and 2 kg hashish were also confiscated.
