Exhibition on Nuclear, Missile Achievements Opens

TEHRAN (Dispatches) -- Iran on Sunday launched a missile and nuclear accomplishments fair west of Tehran in Qazvin city in a ceremony joined by senior officials, including head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi.
Senior advisor to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi also participated in the expo which will be wrapped up on November 21, featuring 20 stalls showcasing Iran’s nuclear and missile accomplishments.
Salehi said new U.S. sanctions will fail to stop the country's progress in different fields.
"In spite of sanctions, Iran's achievements in various fields, particularly in the defense and missile industry sectors as well as the nuclear industry have astonished the world," he told IRNA.
The United States, he said, has been pursuing the policy of imposing sanctions on the Iranian nation since the victory of the Islamic Revolution some 40 years ago, emphasizing that sanctions are nothing new for Iran.
Iran, Salehi added, has managed to achieve great success despite all kinds of pressures, restrictions, eight years of Iraqi-imposed war and crippling sanctions.
The official said the Iranian nation relies on its own capabilities in the face of sanctions.
On Saturday, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) once again reaffirmed Iran's full compliance with its commitments under the 2015 landmark nuclear deal.
Iran "is implementing its nuclear-related commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). It is essential that Iran continues to fully implement those commitments,” IAEA head Yukiya Amano said.
"The agency continues to verify the non-diversion of nuclear material declared by Iran under its Safeguards Agreement. Evaluations regarding the absence of undeclared nuclear material and activities in Iran continue,” Amano added.
