Best Director Award Goes to Peyman Maadi at Bosphorus Film Festival


TEHRAN (Dispatches) - Iranian director, Peyman Maadi received the award for best director at Bosphorus Film Festival award held in Istanbul, Turkey.
Maadi was awarded for the movie "Bomb, A Love Story”.
The movie is based on Tehran’s Bombardment in 1988.
According to Bosphorus website, the event is aimed to contribute to the development of motion pictures that have ethical, esthetical and technical integrity in Turkey and in the World, to support young producers and directors materially and morally in producing new movies, to keep the idea of provision of our country’s cinema with an identity on the agenda and to perform the necessary activities to that end, and to promote our country’s cinema both in Turkey and internationally.
Payman Maadi is an Iranian-American actor, screenwriter and director. He is best known for starring in the films "A Separation” and "About Elly” directed by Asghar Farhadi and the independent drama film "Camp X-Ray”. For his role in "A Separation”, he won the Silver Bear for Best Actor in 2011.
