Time-Tested Iran-Syria Ties Frustrate US Designs in the Levant

Ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Syrian Arab Republic have withstood the test of time which no third power has been able to dent, and are set to flower more brightly during the current phase of final end to the armed conflict and the reconstruction of the war-ravaged country that will follow.
If Damascus had stood steadfast beside Tehran during the 8-year war the US imposed on the newly founded Islamic Republic through Saddam of the repressive Ba’th minority regime of Baghdad, to the extent of closing the Iraqi oil pipeline to the Mediterranean port of Baniyas, Tehran has spared no efforts to help Syria crush 7-years of international terrorism launched jointly by the US, Israel, Britain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey and Israel.
Today the two countries, justly proud of their mutual friendship as part of the Resistance Front that has thwarted the devilish designs of neo-colonialism and Zionism, are looking forward to an era of reconstruction, after liberating the last remaining areas of Syria under foreign occupation.
To further boost the time-tested relationship, especially at a time when their common enemies are trying to resurrect the defeated terrorists by once again propping up the US-protected criminal Abu Bakr Baghdadi, and stepping up Zionist air strikes on Syria, Iran’s Defence Minister, Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier-General Amir Hatami, during his meeting in Damascus with his Syria counterpart General Ali Abdullah Ayyoub on Sunday, made it clear "Iran will spare no effort to maintain Syria’s territorial integrity.”
This no nonsense statement, coupled with the Syrian Government’s reiteration that Iranian military advisors and personnel will continue to stay for speeding up stabilization, complete liberation, and reconstruction of the country, has sent the right message to forces prolonging their unauthorized presence in Syria.
US State Department representative William Roebuck who has entered Syria illegally in violation of international laws, would be wise enough to leave, because the government of President Bashar al-Assad has every right, as per clauses of the UN Charter, to apprehend him and charge him for inciting the people of the terrorist-occupied areas of Manbij, Ayn al-Arab, and Deir ez-Zore to violence and rebellion against the legal authorities.
Washington is living in a fool’s paradise, if it thinks that in a bid to prevent the eventual liberation of Idlib, Deir ez-Zore and all other occupied territories, it would again order its terrorist minions to use chemical gasses on civilians in areas under their control and then lay the blame as usual on the Syrian government as a pretext for military action.
Damascus and its allies, including the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia, will not allow such devilish designs to succeed, and have already cautioned US against risking further damage to its constantly plunging credibility, which this time will prove costly for Washington.
The plot to sow discord amongst Syrians will not succeed anymore, as is evident by the growing number of repentant rebels who are joining the ranks of the Syria army for action against the terrorists and their backers.
Gone are the days when the Zionist-controlled western media had misled the world of the ground realities in Syria through twitter, facebook, and other forms of social media.
Whether the US or its clients in the region like it or not, Iran’s friendly presence in the Levant and Mesopotamia is not new, neither against the interests of the Syrian, Iraqi, Lebanese and Palestinian peoples, nor in violation of regional rules, which in fact do not allow rank outsiders to meddle in West Asia.
It is a stabilizing factor and deep-rooted in history as the Romans and the Byzantines had discovered to the detriment of their imperialist goals long ago.
