Urgent Need for Yemen to Have Advanced Missile Defence System

By: Kayhan Int’l Staff Writer

The killing goes on in Yemen, as Saudi Arabia with the backing of the US, Britain and other western and Arab reactionary regimes, continues its state terrorism.
The rising death toll of the Yemenis, it seems has few sympathizers. The warnings by humanitarian ogranisations of the epidemic and the impeding famine,   has fallen on deaf ears.
The catastrophe in Yemen is undoubtedly the worst tragedy of its kind, but the criminals in Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Washington, London, and Paris, remain unmoved, and are intent to carry on their crimes against humanity.
It is now the fourth year of the unprovoked Saudi-led aggression and the aggressors, despite the massive inflow of the latest armaments from the West, have been unable to overcome the impoverished Yemenis, especially the indomitable popular Ansarallah Movement.
So far some 20,000 men, women, and children have been killed in the Saudi bombardment and the infrastructure of Yemen completely destroyed, in addition to the displacement of millions from their homes and hearts, yet the aggressors have not been able to materialize their sinister goals.
The UN Security Council, instead of stopping the massacre of the innocents, comes with weird resolutions, calling on the defenders to stop resistance and the use of deterrent missiles on military and industrial targets in Saudi Arabia, where the American-supplied Patriot anti-missile system has completely failed.
The Yemeni missiles have indeed been a success, but to prevent further death and destruction in Yemen, the legal government of Ansarallah needs effective anti-aircraft and anti-missile defence system.
The other day, Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, in response to the cowardly missile barrage of the US, Britain, and France on Syria, said that there is no reason not to supply advanced S-300 missile defence system to the legal government in Damascus for protection of the country.
Better late than never. Such a system will undoubtedly shoot down western and Zionist aircraft and missiles and give Syria the advantage to further assert its control over the areas under occupation of the terrorists, the Americans and the Turks.
The point is, a similar missile defence system is needed in Yemen, in order to thwart the same sordid designs of the Saudis and their western and Arab accomplices in crimes.
It is crucial to turn the tide of the war in Yemen in order to safeguard peace and stability in the Arabian Peninsula, because the moment the spurious Saudi entity (created by the British in 1932) is defeated, not only the Yemeni people, but the people of Bahrain, Hijaz, Najran, eastern oil-rich region, and of course, Qatar will be freed.
Let us rally to the support of the Yemeni people in the interests of peace, and prosperity of the region.
