Twin Car Bombs Kill At Least 18 in Mogadishu
MOGADISHU (Reuters) -- Twin car bombs went off in Somalia's capital and have killed 18 people and wounded 20 others, the capital's ambulance services said. The bombs were targeting the presidential palace and a hotel, police said.
"So far we carried 18 dead people and 20 others injured from the blasts tonight," Abdikadir Abdirahman, the director of Amin ambulances, told Reuters. "I can confirm an attack in the vicinity of the presidential palace," police officer Ibrahim Mohamed told AFP. "Another car loaded with explosives went off close to a recently opened hotel."
