Time to End US State Terrorism in Asia

By: Kayhan Int’l Staff Writer

It is time for the free world to get together to permanently end US terrorism around the world instead of issuing mere statements of protest to Washington’s growing lawlessness around the globe.
From the Korean Peninsula on the eastern rim of Asia to Syria on its western rim, Uncle Sam’s policy of state terrorism in the world’s largest continent, which along with Europe and Africa forms the most extensive landmass on Planet Earth, should no longer be tolerated.
The recent impudent announcement by the US of setting up a force of 30,000 terrorists to further destabilize Syria – and Iraq as well – was rightly condemned by the host country as "blatant encroachment upon the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Syria.”
It was but natural for the Syrian government to make it clear that any Syrian involved in the US sponsored Kurd or Arab militias "is a traitor to his people and nation, and will be deal with on this basis.”
An excellent official response indeed that was backed by Iran and Russia, both of whom called the US meddling "outright act of interference in the affairs of Syria and demanded the exit of all illegal forces, especially the meddling Americans, from Syrian soil.”
It should be noted that no sooner was stability and state control restored in Syria by the Islamic Republic of Iran, Russia and the region’s popular mobilization forces invited by the government of President Bashar al-Assad to drive out the Takfiri and other terrorists, than the US, which has no right to have any military presence in Syria, made another provocative move.
Major regional powers also questioned the right of the US to meddle in the affairs of Syria and other countries.
UN Chief Antonio Guterres, who cannot openly say many things against the thuggish Americans, was rather mild in his response by saying: "If Syrians could solve their own problems it would be much better.”
Nonetheless, the statement of Gutteres, a former prime minister of Portugal, could be viewed as Europe’s opposition to the American freebooters in Syria, whether Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), who have no pretensions to democracy, or the so-called People’s Protection Units (YPG), whom neighbouring Turkey has vowed to destroy as terrorists.
President Rajab Tayyeb Erdoghan’s choice of words for the latest provocations by the US in Syria was interesting. It is worth watching what action he will take on the ground against the American proxies, after appealing to NATO to come to the assistance of Turkey as a member state, and warning the US:
"Lower your flags over the terrorist [YPG] bases so that we are not forced to hand them over to you ourselves, so that we are not forced to bury those who stand by the terrorists in the ground.”
He also said Turkey will nip in the bud any form of US terrorism.
The US media was quick to call Erdoghan’s statement as "warmongering” and tried to taunt him with its threatening comments: "How many more times can Erdoghan pledge to crush the YPG and do nothing without denting his credibility?
Obviously, Erdoghan is no Kim Jong-il and neither does Turkey have the nuclear technology of North Korea to openly challenge the US.
In view of these facts, the question arises: Should the free world content itself with mere denunciations without taking concrete action to end once and all American meddling in the affairs of independent countries?
This could be called a million dollar question and demands decisive answers, especially after how the Islamic Republic and the Iranian people have time and again bloodied the poking nose of the Great Satan.
