Iran to Attend Fitur International Tourism Fair in Madrid

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran will attend the 38th edition of the International Tourism Fair 'Fitur' slated for January 17-21 in Madrid, Spain, a senior diplomat announced.
"A total of 23 Iranian tourism companies will participate in the fair," Iranian Ambassador to Madrid Mohammad Hassan Fadayeefard said while highlighting Iran’s active participation in this international event.
He, meantime, said that Iranian vice president and head of cultural heritage, handicrafts and tourism organization Ali Asghar Mounesan is slated to visit Spain and participate in the opening ceremony of the fair.
"During the visit, Mounesan will hold meetings with Spanish officials and some of his counterparts from other countries to discuss ways for developing cooperation in the field of tourism industry including exchange of tourists, construction of hotels and resorts and cultural areas," Fadayeefard said.
The international tourism trade fair, Fitur, which takes place annually in the Ifema trade fair center of Madrid, has become one of the biggest tourism fairs worldwide and the no. 1 on the Iberian Peninsula. In so-called national pavilions, the particularities of the regions are presented to the visitors of the fair, mainly consisting of decision-makers in the tourism industry, such as travel agencies and tourism associations. The fair is also considered the most important gateway to the Latin American market. On the whole, the event serves as a global communication platform in order to develop future strategies taking into account the changes in consumer demand and thus generally to promote the tourism business. The Feria de Madrid is located strategically and in the immediate vicinity of the international airport. The exhibition centre is easy to reach with public transport.
The Fitur will take place on 5 days from January 17 (Wednesday) to January 21 (Sunday) in Madrid.
