RAMALLAH (Dispatches) – A Palestinian teenager was shot dead by the Zionist army on Wednesday in Ramallah district in the West Bank, Palestinian Ministry of Health said.
The boy, identified as Musab Al-Tamimi, 17, was killed by the Zionist regime’s army in Deir Netham village north of Ramallah city, the ministry said in a press statement.
Local sources said that Zionist troops opened fire on the boy during clashes in the village, after the troops stormed into the village. The Zionist regime’s sources did not comment on the incident.
Zionist troops storm the village on the pretext of arresting Palestinian young men who threw stones on Zionist settlers' vehicles on the adjacent northern road.
The developments comes in the backdrop of Trump’s decision to recognize al-Quds as the Zionist regime’s capital and relocate the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to the occupied city.
The dramatic shift in Washington’s policy vis-à-vis the city triggered demonstrations in the occupied Palestinian territories, Iran, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Tunisia, Algeria, Iraq, Morocco and other Muslim countries.
On December 21, the United Nations General Assembly overwhelmingly voted in favor of a resolution that calls on the U.S. to withdraw its controversial recognition of al-Quds as the Zionist regime’s "capital.”
In an attempt to avert the resolution, Trump had warned that "we’re watching,” threatening reprisals against countries that backed the measure, which earlier faced a U.S. veto at the UN Security Council.
The Zionist regime, however, rejected the world body’s resolution while thanking Trump for his decision to move the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to al-Quds.
Al-Quds remains at the core of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with Palestinians hoping that the eastern part of the city would eventually serve as the capital of a future independent Palestinian state.
