Iranian Athletes Pocket Nine Medals at 7th World Kung Fu Championships


TEHRAN (Press TV) - Iranian kung fu practitioners have displayed great physical and mental skills at the 7th edition of World Kung Fu Championships in China, managed to clinch nine medals, including one gold, at the high-status international event.
Iranian sportsman Saeed Atazadeh put a commendable show in his march to the final competition of Chen Tai Chi form, and claimed the top spot.
Seyyed Hamed Katouzi stood second in the Yang Tai Chi form, and collected a silver medal.
Hassan Ghasemi and Mohsen Rouzbahani also received two bronze medals in the Xing Yi and Shaolin forms respectively.
Additionally Mehdi Ramezanzadeh picked up a silver medal in the Ji Yen Tai Chi form. Atazadeh and Zahra Rouhi bagged two bronze medals in the same form.
On Saturday and the final day of the competitions, Mehdi Haydari and Ghaseni added two bronze medals to Iran’s tally.
The 7th edition of World Kung Fu Championships kicked off on November 7 and wrapped up on November 11, 2017 in the Chinese city of Emeishan.
The tournament reportedly attracted 3,800 competitors in all age groups from 57 countries.
