TEHRAN (Fars) - The International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) has named two Iranian athletes Nasibe Shahbazi and Sajjad Pirayqarchaman as nominees for the 2017 best deaf player.
"ICSD has listed names of 11 male and 15 female world athletes among whom are an Iranian taekwondoka and a discus thrower," Iran Deaf Sports Federation announced.
Iranian taekwondo fighter Shahbazi snatched a gold medal in 2017 Summer Deaflympics which was held on July 18-30 in Samsun, Turkey.
In discus throw field, Pirayqarchaman also received a gold medal.
The International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) is the main governing body responsible for the organization of Deaflympics and other World Deaf Championships.
