Iranian Volleyballers Down Italy 3-1

 

TEHRAN (Press TV) -- The 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship started on Sunday for the Iranian national team with a valuable 3-1 win against Italy in Pool D of the competitions being held in Krakow, Poland. The Iranians started strong and claimed the first set 25-16. It was, however, the Italians who closed the second set 25-23 to level things. From then onwards, the Iranian volleyball players took control over the game, winning the next two sets 25-21 and 25-22. Iran will next take on the United States on Tuesday. Iran are pitted against Italy, the U.S., Belgium, France and Puerto Rico in Pool D of the championship.
