Leader’s Timely Warning Against US Devilry

By Kayhan Int’l Staff Writer

Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, whose famous fatwa considering manufacture of nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction as ‘haraam” or religiously prohibited, has warned the world’s most dangerously nuclear-armed country, the US, against any breach of the Joint Comprehensive Plan Of Action (JCPOA) regarding the Islamic Republic’s right to peaceful use of nuclear energy, making it clear that any wrong move by the Donald Trump administration will result in "Iran’s decisive response”.
He said: Every day the US government exposes a new side of its viciousness, thus proving (the Late) Imam Khomeini’s words true that the US regime is the "Great Satan”.
The term used by the Father of the Islamic Revolution to describe the devilish nature of successive US administrations was not a spontaneous spur of the moment emotional remark. It was in fact a well thought out description of the US, which has a bleak, black and bloody record of crimes, lies, deceit, wars, broken promises, breach of agreements, genocide of Amerindians, enslavement of the black people, support of dictatorial regimes, state terrorism and last but not the least the criminally unpardonable atomic bombardment of Japanese cities.
Ayatollah Khamenei, who had given the go ahead to the administration of President Hassan Rouhani after the latter’s election to office in 2013 for nuclear talks with the 5+1 Group of countries made up of Germany and the five self-imposed permanent members of the UN Security Council – Russia, France, China, Britain and the US – had also cautioned the Iranian side against any expectations that Washington would honour its commitment to any accord.
The accord was reached in Geneva in 2015 after long negotiations that showed Iran’s goodwill in downgrading uranium enrichment from 20 percent to 3.5 percent when Iran could have well stuck to the 20 percent, is now being threatened by quixotic Trump, who in violation of the clauses of the accord, has imposed more of the illegal sanctions on Iran and cancelled the agreement with Boeing for Iran’s purchase of civilian aircraft.
The US cannot withdraw unilaterally from the nuclear accord nor can it add new clauses to it. It should also be clear that the US or any other power has no right to object to Iran’s testing of ballistic missiles to strengthen its defences, space research programmes, and confronting the terrorists nurtured by the US, the Zionists and Saudi Arabia to destabilize regional countries.
The other five countries to the nuclear accord have so far honoured their commitments, and the US will withdraw at its own peril, with Iran reserving the right to take necessary measures against American lawlessness.
President Rouhani is now in New York to attend the annual UN General Assembly meeting and will make clear Iran’s stance on JCPOA as well as Washington’s roguish efforts to undermine it.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has the technology, the expertise, the resources and brains, to go ahead in its development plan, which means US refusal to stop delivery of passenger planes will be not more than mosquito bites, in view of the facts there are many other countries ready to do business with Tehran.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution has rightly said: Retreating has no place in our policies when it comes to our national interests. The enemies must know that if bullying works elsewhere in the world, it won’t ever work for the Islamic Republic of Iran. Retreating has no place in our policies when it comes to our national interests.
In view of these facts, the White House is mistaken if it thinks it can provoke Iran or force it to forgo its policies for the benefit of the country and the peace and security of regional people.
To recall Imam Khomeini’s words: They cannot do a damn thing.
