TEHRAN (Dispatches) – An Iranian commander on Monday confirmed that the country’s naval forces in the Sea of Oman warned an American military vessel to stay away from a damaged Iranian fishing boat, saying a recording of the direct radio contact could be released if necessary.
Rear Admiral Reza Abbasi said Iran’s Falakhan missile boat warned the American battleship as it approached the boat which had sent out a distress call. The U.S, ship turned back upon receiving a warning to stay away. The U.S. Navy on Sunday denied any direct contact with Iranian forces.
