Iranian Athlete Bags Gold in Muay Thai Championships



GORGAN (IRNA) – Iranian athlete Mohammad Reza Chabok snatched gold medal in Youth Muay thai World Championships held in Bangkok, Thailand.
During final match, Chabok in the weight category of 67 kg overpowered Turkey and he ranked first.
Iranian Muay Thai youth and teenage national team which participated in international competitions for the first time received three gold and three bronze medals.
Muay Thai or Thai boxing is a combat sport of Thailand that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. This physical and mental discipline which includes combat on shins is known as 'the art of eight limbs' because it is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, shins, being associated with a good physical preparation that makes a full-contact fighter very efficient.
