Infinite Hope: Yemen Is Not Done

 By: Kayhan Int’l Staff Writer

Another year has passed, but Yemen is still fighting against the ugly lunacy of the House of Saud and its partners in crime.
The illegal war has killed at least 10,000 civilians. The UN’s humanitarian affairs office says the figure, which is a low estimate, was reached using data from health facilities that have kept track of the victims of the war, which has largely been ignored by the international community. The figure does not include those recorded by hospitals and health centers as having died, which is likely to be most of the combatants on both sides of the conflict.
Nor is that all. The Saudis continue airstrikes in force and the United Nations is not facing the murderous hordes. The tyrants pervert facts and want us to believe their monstrous lies that this is about saving Yemen. They want us to remain objective and award ourselves with the luxury of time until their next ridiculous peace talks come to a self-serving conclusion.
This is while the time to face their medieval ignorance, state terrorism, imperialism, fascism, exceptionalism, selfishness and greed is here and now. People of conscience should take to the streets and condemn those who are burning Yemen. They must hit with full force those who are slaughtering innocent civilians.
The murderous hordes have employed all their might, utilizing everything from the mainstream media to military facilities and UN seats, to justify their crimes against humanity. They spread their poisonous propaganda and lies to oppress a sovereign nation and its hope. Little do they know that Yemen has indefinite hope and is not done yet.
The Saudis get all the help they can from the West, including arms and logistical support. This is the same West that keeps telling us to respect human rights, respect international humanitarian law; but then goes ahead and helps the Saudis target even more civilian objects in a war they themselves know has no justification and legality.
They know the war on Yemen is criminal and has no UN approval. For grand deceits they rely on countless numbers of propagandists and disinformation to justify their support for the Saudi invaders. The biggest crime is to believe in their fabrications and the biggest mistake is to step back and watch them supply the Saudis with more guns and bombs.
It is true that their propaganda apparatus is enormously efficient and effective. But it is also true that things are not as hopeless as they used to be. The regime changers have failed to defeat Yemen and the nation has no intention to give up hope just yet.
Saudi Arabia has only been able to carry out the war because of U.S. support. Since Obama entered office in 2009, his administration has offered more than $115 billion in arms deals and military support to Saudi Arabia. This is by their own account.
In addition to the massive weapons sales, the U.S. does refueling sorties for Saudi planes, providing tens of millions of kilograms of fuel. And U.S.-NATO officials have given targeting advice, all while in the same room as Saudi military personnel. Again, this is what the Pentagon tells us.
Indeed a reminder that this is not a war between Saudi Arabia and Yemen; it’s a war waged by the Saudi vassals on behalf of the United States and the mere extras to fail Yemen, to protect Israel, and to preserve regional status quo – all on the pretext of freedom and democracy. What a disgrace.
