Army Begins Major Drill in Southeast Iran



TEHRAN (Dispatches) – Iran’s army is about to begin a series of large-scale military drills in the country’s southeast on Sunday.
Iranian ground force commander Brigadier General Kioumars Heidari said units from the army’s ground and air forces as well as its navy, and air defense will take part in the extensive maneuver dubbed Muhammad Rasullullah 4. The drills will be carried out in an area of 220,000 square kilometers. One of the main objectives of the exercises is to maintain and increase the readiness of the Iranian armed forces, Heidari said.
