World Qods Day
By: Dr. Hassan Najafi
The day sacred it is
Full of blessing and bliss
Last Friday of fasting Ramadhan
Designated Qods Day by that farsighted Man
His vision penetrated the future,
Although Muslims still immature
Today Islam is there but a Muslim nowhere
Why Qods neglected; its name gone rare,
The first Qibla was Qods
The Qur’an confirms the sanctity of Qods,
Qods is in the Zionists’ hands, why?
Muslims disunited is the reply.
It is was the first focal point of the ritual prayer,
First leg of the Prophet’s journey to the heavenly layer,
It was the haven of the prophets of the past,
Who gave tidings of the Great Prophet to come at last!
Alas, now full fraught with pity and sorrow are the strings
Hark, what melancholy song Qods today sings.
Gaza writhes in pain,
As Israeli bombs and missiles rain,
Palestinians in worsening plight,
No help from fellow Arabs in sight,
Fie O’ cowards, shame upon you;
Zionists kill Muslims, while behind terrorists you queue,
God damn the Takfiris and their caliphate,
Zionist agents confounding Muslims’ fate
Indifferent to al-Aqsa’s cause,
You massacre Muslims in Iraq and Syria without pause,
Zionists and Takfiris two sides of the same coin
Your seeds sprout from Satan’s own loin
But Qods will eventually return to us,
Despite your plots and devilish fuss,
It may be in Zionist hands
But stands even greater have changed hands.
To our embrace it will eventually return
To the fold of Islam to veneration earn.
