ABU DHABI (FNA) – Yemeni sources reported that representatives of Ansarullah delegation and the Saudi-backed exiled government resumed their talks, as the issue of detainees held by the two sides is the main focus of these talks that could see a possible prisoners exchange.
The meeting of detainees committee in Yemen peace talks held in Kuwait’s presidential Palace and was attended by UN envoy, Al Manar reported.
During the meeting, representatives of the Ansarullsh delegation called for disclosing the fate of fighters who were detained by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during the current aggression by Saudi-led coalition on the Arab impoverished country.
Ansarullah group says UAE should release detainees of Yemeni army and popular committees as the other side did regarding hundreds of detainees of Saudi-led forces.
Yemen has been under brutal aggression by Saudi-led coalition since March 26, 2015.
Thousands have been killed or injured in the attack, with the vast majority of them are civilians.
Riyadh launched the attack on Yemen in a bid to restore power to fugitive ex-president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi who is a close ally to Saudi Arabia.
