Leader: Iran to Support Palestinians in Any Way

TEHRAN (Dispatches) – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that Iran would support the Palestinian uprising against the occupying regime of Israel "in any way we can".
"Despite all the efforts of the Arrogance (the United States) ... and even with cooperation from Arab countries, the Palestinian intifada (uprising) has started in the West Bank," the Leader said.
"We will defend the movement of the Palestinian people with all of our existence, and in any way and as long as we can," Ayatollah Khamenei told a gathering of volunteer Basij members.
The Leader criticized those who call Palestinians "terrorists", saying they are the people protesting the occupation of their land.
Since Oct. 1, at least 86 Palestinians have been martyred, some while carrying out assaults and others in clashes with Zionist forces. At least 19 Zionists and an American have been killed in Palestinian attacks.
The bloodshed has been fueled by Muslim agitation over increased visits by Zionist extremists to the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound - Islam's third holiest place in East Jerusalem Al-Quds.
The Palestinians are also frustrated by the failure of decades of so-called peace talks to deliver them an independent state.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei said those people who accuse Basij force of being radical are in fact completing the enemy’s infiltration project.
The Leader once again explained about enemy’s efforts to infiltrate the country under various excuses, saying, "The issue of enemy’s infiltration is a very important issue.”
Ayatollah Khamenei said the fact that some people intend to take advantage of the issue of "influence” in favor of their own political faction, does not reduce the importance of this issue because the enemy is devising plots against the country.
"Today, infiltrating into (political) currents is more dangerous than influencing individuals,” the Leader noted, adding that infiltrating into a political current means to build a network within the nation by spending money and banking on sexual attractions in order to change beliefs, ideals, views and lifestyle of the nation.
Praising Iran's Basij force as an "unending treasure”, the Leader warned that those people who accuse Basij of being extremist and radical "are completing the enemy’s infiltration project”.
"Basij is among strong embankments which should not be undermined,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.
