President Raisi: Missile Capabilities Non-Negotiable

TEHRAN -- President Ebrahim Raisi said Thursday will not compromise on its missile power and military achievements with the West.
Addressing a gathering of people on a trip to Qom, Raisi touched on the 2022 unrest and deadly riots in Iran, the president said the enemies sought to ignite chaos and riots in the country but failed to block Iran’s path of progress.
“Some people said that the country might get stuck in a war and we should remove the specter of war from the country and the way to do that is to trade off our military and missile capabilities and they put the JCPOA 2 and 3 on the table,” he said, referring to the dormant 2015 nuclear deal with the West, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
He also said Iran’s military might was manifested in its recent operation against Israel, dubbed True Promise, carried out last month in retaliation for the Israeli strikes on the Iranian consulate in the Syrian capital, Damascus.
Separate, Raisi called on international organizations to push for increased delivery of humanitarian assistance to the war-stricken Gaza Strip and to intensify efforts to overcome obstacles created by the Israeli regime.
In a statement on the occasion of the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, Raeisi lamented that the Zionist regime is obstructing the delivery of aid to prolong the suffering of Gazans.
“This year we commemorate World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day as the people of Gaza are living in the most difficult conditions without access to water, food, medicine, and basic medical and sanitary facilities,” he said.
“The provision of aid and necessary services to these people has unfortunately faced obstruction by the Zionist regime, despite that our country’s Red Crescent Society as a member of this large family and other countries around the world have voiced readiness” to help Gaza, he added.
Raisi said, “It is deeply regrettable that even the members of this society have not been spared from the ruthless aggression of this regime.”
“On this occasion of honoring Red Crescent Day, I take the opportunity to once again call upon the international community and all awakened human consciences to assist the oppressed people of Gaza and to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid and the alleviation of human suffering of the people of Gaza.”
